All of my work is inspired by nature and the human form. I do not feel limited by a particular medium, but feel free to incorporate any product (pastel, acrylic paint, charcoal, collage) that can be chemically combined to create the effect I am after.

I often begin with a reference photograph but soon migrate to a more intuitive process, letting the painting itself inform me as to next moves.

Whether the subject is a distant landscape or a complete abstraction, at some unpredictable point I feel the composition resolving in my mind‘s eye. At this point I often add one or more thin red lines that serve as a flag, waypoint, or trail blaze to show me the direction the painting must go.

My intention is for my work to portray an energetic and natural flow of paint that creates a setting or escape within which one can contemplate that compositional puzzle along with the rhythm and mood created within its frame. Enjoy.
