Lamp Series

I started these lamps in the Fall of 2022 and they have evolved as any painting or sculptural piece does. I am particularly interested in the weighless look, and they feel a bit like anemones or other underwater creatures which is a 3D leap from the paintings in this same vein. They seem mid-century in their layering and up close have a Deco-esque simplicity that changes as they are illuminated. It is a clear inspiration from my art heros Ruth Asawa and Buckminster Fuller.
