"Women Take the Walls" is an annual, curated group exhibition at the Garrett Museum of Art (GMoA) in Garrett, Indiana, celebrating female artists from across the US. The show features diverse, contemporary mediums—including painting, sculpture, fiber art, and photography—designed to highlight women's perspectives and artistic contributions. The exhibition has showcased various artists, featuring pieces that reimagine reality and explore topics like natural surroundings and personal history.

Miriam McClung's art and faith often come together in unplanned ways--a visit to the local playground reminds her of
Christ's humble birth; streets and villages in Birmingham become the backdrop for Jesus' journey to the cross, or a hill
overlooking Samford university becomes the setting of Satan's temptation of Christ. Wherever Miriam finds herself, she
paints and expresses the intersection of her faith and everyday life as she encounters the stories in the Scriptures and their
profound meaning.

The exhibit can be viewed chronologically by beginning at the far end of the gallery (towards the gym and parking lot exit doors) and working backwards toward the connecting hallway to the main church. Each wall explores a group of paintings centered around a theme encountering Jesus unexpectedly, starting with the piece "If My People" and the promise of a savior in the Old Testament and all the way to an encounter with Him returning depicted in the book of Revelation.

Opening reception and artist presentation will be September 18, 5:30-7:00 pm.
