After making very little art for nearly 25 years, Marquita was introduced to live competitive painting in 2016 rekindling her passion for creating and expressing herself visually. Since then, she has competed 15 times in four cities in two provinces.

Fascinated with patterns of light and colour, her work is heavily influenced by impressionist styles and organic abstractions found in nature, including reflections in water, tree shapes, the changing sky and interesting faces. She primarily paints in acrylic, however also uses soft pastels and frequently experiments with mixed media.

Marquita is self-represented and takes commissions on a limited basis. Inquiries are welcome.
