Art for me is an escape, a second life beyond my day-to-day.
My process takes me away from the here and now, but is solidly rooted in the present and influenced by the elements and the natural world around me.
My practice began as a response to a feelings of loss, waste, and frustration with the world. It also became an escape from social media and all of the screens we sit at day-to-day.
Using my hands to press paint between paper is grounding. Each press, twist, or swirl of paint reveals abstracted organic shapes and forms, portals to new worlds. The pressed pages creating mirrored images that yet were still unique. The pulled paint delivering unique textures and marbled blends of color.
