Flux explores the instability of becoming: the moment when one state loosens before another has fully formed. The work emerged from a period of transition, where certainty gave way to movement, interruption and reorganisation. Drawing on the behaviour of living systems, it considers change not as rupture, but as a continuous process of adaptation. Layers are built, erased and redirected, allowing earlier decisions to remain present beneath the surface. In this way, the painting holds transformation as both a physical and emotional condition; unsettled, necessary and generative.
