Bio

Marilyn Valiente is a multimedia artist whose work is a fusion of psychology and spirituality. Drawing from her background as a psychotherapist and her fascination with symbols, archetypes and Buddhist philosophy, Valiente creates intricate, layered pieces that explore the complexity of the human experience, women’s issues, and societal concerns.

Currently with a studio in Miami International Fine Art, she is working primarily with textile. Valiente sews, hand stitches, paints, and prints bold textures and narratives that honor the strong women in her life, including her mother, grandmother, and sister. Her art breaks free from the traditional canvas constraints, weaving together fragments of reality and abstractions to provoke awareness and inspire change.

Valiente’s work has been exhibited in locally and internationally. Recent solo shows, includes “Under the Circus Tent” October 2025 at Mundo Arte Gallery in North Miami Beach, Florida, and “Dreaming of a Time” June 2024 at Miami International Fine Art (MIFA)Florida.
