My paintings begin with observation. Sometimes they remain close to what I see, a particular landscape, a familiar place, or a fleeting moment. Other times they evolve beyond direct representation, shaped by memory, emotion, and imagination.

I am drawn to the quiet beauty of everyday experiences and the character found in ordinary places. Working primarily in oil, and at times acrylic, I spend time studying my subject before developing a composition. While my work is rooted in realism, from there at times I create compositions which reflect the feeling and mood.

Rather than striving for a perfect record of a scene, I seek to capture the atmosphere and emotional resonance of a moment. Some paintings remain faithful to the landscape before me, while others become more interpretive, blending observation with whimsy and invention.

My process is both deliberate and organic. Traditional techniques provide the foundation, but I leave room for exploration, allowing each painting to develop naturally. Through this balance of observation and interpretation, I hope to create work that invites viewers to slow down, look closely, and discover their own connection to the places and stories within each piece
