Madey Ramirez is an Alhambra-based artist with a Bachelor of Architecture from Woodbury University. She has always had an interest in art and architecture from a young age that has flourished with her experiences from school and her heritage. She is self-taught, having learned on her own and uses mediums in a non-traditional way. Her work draws from life, dreams, and mental health struggles.
About
I don't limit myself to one medium or style. I often change my process depending on the type of medium. My work is a response to and inspired by my mental health. I draw from vivid dreams as a result of my mental health and also as a release. This allows me to process what is happening at the moment when I struggle to define what's going on in my head with words; I process it with my art. It's a driving force in my art. I can recall what my feelings and headspace were when making all my pieces. A part of me is left within each work, big or small.
