Lucretia D. Clark is a Philadelphia-born, Bay Area-based self-taught mixed-media artist whose practice began in 2009. Working with textiles, fiber, layered surfaces, and unconventional tools, she creates richly textured works shaped by color, memory, Black HERstory, travel, culture, and lived experience.
Her paintings explore identity, belonging, home, restoration, and the interior lives of Black Women of the African Diaspora. Her signature aesthetic—“color-ific, texture-licious, and soul-full™”—invites viewers to look closely, feel deeply, and recognize beauty as both expression and reclamation.
Clark’s work has appeared in juried, curated, and community exhibitions from Pennsylvania to California. She is the Founder, CEO & Creative Director of LIVACIOUS LU®, an art-infused home décor and lifestyle brand through which selected original works extend beyond the canvas into furnishings, gathering pieces, travel goods, and other expressions of everyday living.
She is also the Founder & CEO of The Vibrancy Foundation™, a separate nonprofit advancing culturally rooted integrative wellness, creativity, leadership, and community for Black Women.
Clark lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.
