Matthias Gubler is a Zurich-based artist working with video, installation, and digital collage. His practice centers on the videoloop, using repetition to explore perception, time, and the fragility of contemporary experience. Combining found footage with self-produced material, Gubler creates layered compositions that juxtapose imagery in subtle, often poetic ways. His works invite slow, attentive viewing, where meaning unfolds through rhythm, duration, and visual dialogue. Presented as projections or framed screens, his moving-image works function as a “new canvas,” balancing aesthetic precision with conceptual openness and encouraging reflection within an increasingly fast-paced, digital world.
