Kimberleigh Wood

Kimberleigh Wood is a California painter whose practice grew from a lifelong engagement with image-making and design. Before devoting herself to painting, she worked as an art director in film advertising and entertainment licensing, taught package design, and designed and manufactured her own golfwear brand.

Wood began painting seriously in 2020. Her work is rooted in direct observation, particularly the rhythms of coastal California and the people, places, and fleeting moments that give a landscape its character. She works between representation and abstraction, using color, shape, movement, and structure to push the familiar somewhere unexpected.

For Wood, painting is a form of note-taking made visible—a way to define her world and make ideas hold still.
