I create in series and this work is a series within series— threads woven together. I was gifted vintage Chinese silk paper, which was destined for the trash. The ancient paper became my starting point for a 2025 solo exhibit, titled Chasing Shadows. The silkworm, which feeds only on mulberry leaves suggested another small insect, the monarch which feeds only on milkweed. The intersection of humans, nature and resources is very much a part of my process for this series.
