Julie A. Gross, born 1943 in Montreal, Canada is a New York-based artist who has worked in studios in Soho, Chelsea, and Glen Spey, NY for over five decades. She graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (’65), and from Hunter College with a Master of Arts (’74). She was a professor of art at Parsons School of Design and Fashion Institute of Technology, and she was a visiting instructor at several other colleges and universities including Rhode Island School of Design. Her teaching career also extended to Seoul, Korea; Kanazawa, Japan; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She has had numerous one- and two-person shows and a multitude of group shows, exhibiting both nationally and internationally. She’s the recipient of National Endowment for the Arts, CAPS, and Pollock/Krasner Foundation grants and has been granted residencies at Yaddo, Macdowell, Ucross, VCCA and others. Her work is held in many corporate and private collections. She is represented by Kenise Barnes Fine Art in Kent, Connecticut. Julie lives in Brooklyn, NY.
