I have been collecting everything from art, antiques, gem and mineral specimens, and a little of everything since before I can remember.

As a kid, I remember family trips through the remote Anza-Borrego desert, and out in the middle of nowhere, there was a little roadside “museum” with a convenience store we would stop at for a rest break.  The museum was full of funky art, antiques, and random “objects of interest”.

That museum is long gone now, but I always dreamed of being a hermit in the middle of nowhere with my own roadside attraction/museum.

I have always created art myself, and loved collecting the works of other artists, both by buying and supporting them to trading my pieces for theirs.  

As much as I love some of the great masters, I also love thrift store, “low brow” and outsider art.

After reading an article on the collection of the Vogels, I became even more inspired to collect, and when I can afford it I buy from as many local and emerging artists that I can.
