Jori Johnson (b. 1989) is a Southern California native, currently working out of her studio in Los Angeles. Both her creative process and content of her work are interwoven with the mental and physical health challenges that she has learned to navigate beginning in her early 20's. While initially inspired by personal experience, her practice is one built upon the synthesis of interdisciplinary research across a variety of scientific fields then expressed through the mediums of painting, installation, creative writing, and musical composition. Though her overall practice is primarily focused within the visual disciplines, written and musical compositions are always actively informing the work she creates.
She earned both her Bachelor’s of Studio Art and a Master’s of Fine Art from Azusa Pacific University, Azusa, CA (2010, 2018).
