The Forgotten Coast Cultural Coalition, the producer of Forgotten Coast en Plein Air, offered a Field Day for people to watch my process and to paint with me. My choice for the morning session was to paint the scarped dune faces where the storm surge had begun yet another cut through St. Joseph Peninsula, just south of the existing breach. This cut stopped near the park road. It clearly shows the flow pattern of the surge and the waves of Hurricane Michael. Sand was already beginning to fill it in, the change happening so fast that I could see a difference in the mere month since my initial "reconnaissance" visit.
