For the first half of 2025 James was (Artist in residence) in Key West Florida on Duval Street live painting most days. He loved the public interaction as they watched him create. The gallery has closed and relocating due to large construction adding condos by building owner. He would like to give his warmest thank you to Key West. James Norman Paukert is a award winning traditionally trained canvas painter with 30 years experience as a freelance commission artist . Having painted many 1st place show vehicles, dragsters and tricked out motorcycles along with his traditional canvas and mural work . Not just paint on metal , James works the image in relief onto the surface then builds transparent layers to create great depth & energetic movement. This also gives his paintings a duality. In room light they look like a beautiful painting but when in direct light, such as sunlight or spot light the image worked onto the surface appears . The depth increases with shifting and movement . It’s like two amazing paintings in one.
