Scott Smith was born in 1951 and received his M.F.A. in Painting. Smith's work is multimedia, and he has worked with illustrative, mixed media, painting, letterpress, poetry, publishing, and print work. His work is both commercial and personal. Creating letterpress work for artists' shows, collaborative drawings with his wife, and commercial work for magazines, newspapers, books, and posters. In 1993-1994, Smith published "Bamboo" with 26 biweekly issues featuring original woodcuts and poetry by Seattle artists and poets.
