Washington, DC-born artist Simone Agoussoye has gained recognition for her complex portraits that often incorporate glass, blending realism with intricate detail to create unique depth and texture. Known for her bold depictions of iconic figures in music, pop culture, history, and the arts, Simone merges traditional portrait techniques with fresh, unconventional approaches that push the boundaries of contemporary art.

Simone’s passion for creativity was evident early on—by age 7, she had already earned her first art award which set her on the path of becoming a professional artist. Over the years, her work has attracted notable collectors, including Missy Elliott, K. Michelle, and Justine Skye, and has been showcased in galleries and museums such as The Phillips Museum and MoCA. Her evolving style continues to draw inspiration from groundbreaking artists like Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol, and Kerry James Marshall, encouraging her to reimagine portraiture with a dynamic, modern flair.
