Gilda Kent is a Denver-based contemporary visual artist.
Kent's practice explores the intersection of deep geological time and immediate environmental shifts. Through layered, material-focused studies of topography and atmospheric conditions, her work investigates the relationship between natural landforms and human perception, examining the fragile yet enduring nature of the earth.
Kent holds a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from the University of Colorado Boulder (2021) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design (2018). Her recent accomplishments include a 2026 solo exhibition at the Denver Art Museum, a Creative Arts Research Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, and an artist residency at The MacDowell Colony.
Currently, she serves as a Visiting Lecturer at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design. Her work is held in numerous private and institutional collections across North America.
