I'm captivated by the enigmatic and majestic nature of trees. On our property, we once had four Sugar Maples, as ancient as our 1840 house. I often pondered how much of the trees we truly owned, considering how their roots extended beyond our boundaries. Countless generations of small creatures found refuge in their roots, branches, and trunks, utilizing their leaves for shade and nest lining. Perhaps it was the trees that possessed us. During my childhood, I fondly recall walking in nature and serenading the trees. To this day, I find immense delight in envisioning the true essence of each tree, capturing both my joy in their presence and their enigmatic life force. It continues to exhilarate and enchant me.
