After retirement from foreign language publications at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, Deborah Masterson relocated to the east side of the Big Island where she completed two years of training at the Kīpaipai School of Art with a concentration in Classical Realism, building on her 1974 BA in Fine Arts from California State College. In between, Deborah kept her hand in informally as a long-time artists’ model, graphic designer, and amateur dabbler.
