Eric Saint Georges’ work focuses on abstracted figurative sculptures and drawings.
Born in France, he initially pursued an education in Electrical Engineering. However, in 1978, a workshop with sculptor Petrus ignited his passion for sculpture. He then went to study drawing and sculpture for a year at the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts” in Paris, before spending several months with Petrus, who taught him the foundation of his clay technique.
However, it is only in 2015, after a 35-year career in engineering, that he made the decision to pursue art full-time.
He works often from life, both for his drawings and his sculptures. He casts his sculpture in bronze, which is time consuming but very rewarding. Eric also loves to teach figure drawing and sculpture.
His work is exhibited at 10 West Gallery in Santa Barbara, as well as Pryor Art Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia. Eric lives with his wife in Santa Barbara and is always happy to welcome visitors in his studio.
