In 2002 a small body photography series was made of floral images which in 2009 became a base for abstract work. What started as abstract paintings on canvas progressed to 3 dimensional paintings and installations. Recently in 2025, Coyle started photographing water and is currently using these images to continue making abstract art in studio made oil paint and alternative surfaces.
Large scale work: Collective Selection 4,5,6. (2025)
A new painting within the Collective Selection series and the largest scale painting to date. The Collective Selection series commenced with one hundred preliminary drawings and tracings of contemporary print media images. Collective Selection [3] is constructed on a 10 meter/33 feet roll of canvas.
