Mingo National Wildlife Refuge Puxico, Missouri | October 2020 I love using negative space to give a subject room to breathe—or in this case, room to soar. Against the vast blue sky, this lone bird seems almost suspended among the clouds. What caught my eye most was the sunlight filtering through its outstretched wings that revealed details and a delicacy that might otherwise go unnoticed on such a powerful bird.
