Dwayne Mitchell grew up in McClellanville South Carolina. A small town in Charleston County. He began drawing at the age of five. He used a stick as his brush and sand as his canvas. A graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta Georgia.
After graduating, he began his career working as a Graphic Designer. Creating ads for companies like Coldwell Banker and Crown Diamond Center. It was in 1984, he met his mentor Master Portrait Artist, Hoeun Chung. Fueled by his interactions and experiences, watching his mentor paint. In 2005, Dwayne decided to take his painting ability to the next level. Dedicating his attention and time to Fine Art Oil Painting.
Dwayne's paintings are proudly displayed in numerous private homes, organizations, and educational institutions. Including Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and the Tennessee Hamilton County Courthouse.
Dwayne works and resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife, Sylvie Mitchell.
