I started playing with my photos and I found my image of a plant that was beautiful. I had altered the colors to a stunning turquoise and red. The digital image was sent off to a textile printer and I was quite please when I saw the result in fabric. I remembered that I had a small turquoise background quilt block made of small squares. So, I decided to try putting the two together and it worked. The center design is outlined with metallic thread and I also used a decorative machine stitch to attach it on top of the quilt. This combination gives it a very modern and graphic feel with the turquoise color offset nicely with the reds in the print.
