If it is true that a picture is worth a thousand words, then it is also true that every picture
tells a story. Those thousand words soon become a book, a novel of things seen and experiences
had, all culminating in a world of visual story telling by the author of those
tales, the photographer. Every photograph taken stops a moment in time, a place described
to the viewer by what they perceive within that image. A place remembered, that might
not be that particular image, but one that evokes that memory of another place, another
time.
The world is filled with images we see, fleeting and momentary, our brain seeks to recall
some of those, a sunset or sunrise, that moment of wonder that beholds the glory of the
beauty that nature bestows on us each and every day.
Spring, the season of renewal and growth, the land turns green after the fallow season of
winter. The grass grows thicker and deep in color, the trees once more bear their mantel
of green. Venice, city of walkways and streets of water, the houses a kaleidoscope of color.
Rome ancient with history.
What stories do objects found tell? A lone blue bicycle standing guard before a building,
the colors playful and striking. A city wall, ancient before America was born. What has it
seen, love laughter, battles to defend the people fought there, lovers strolling in the moonlight
in peaceful times, the flowers blooming and sweet.
Please enjoy this show of beauty captured or time frozen, this journey, both solitary and
thoughtful. Each image seen can only be experienced within ourselves, shared with others
perhaps, but each image telling a story that only that person can write in their own way,
a story within the journey in light.
