MAIN DESCRIPTION
The Hand That Stirs the Sea is a one-of-one original abstract painting by JD Hecht of Creatively Cutz Studio. Created with Acrylic On Canvas, this piece is part of the studio’s Studio Signature Collection.
The Hand That Stirs the Sea was named for the hand-like form that appears to come down from the top of the painting. That shape seems to reach into the composition and disturb the color below it giving the work the feeling of a force stirring the sea. The painting is not a literal seascape but the movement of the colors creates the impression of water being shifted mixed or pulled into motion. The hand-like form gives the viewer a clear point of entry as if something from above is setting the entire surface into movement. The title gives the painting its action. The Hand That Stirs the Sea is about the visible force inside the composition: a form that appears to descend touch the surface and set the color in motion.
