The composition carries a quiet power: heavy shadowed and grounded but lit from within by gold and green movement. The darker negative spaces create a sense of depth and presence while the metallic passages give the work its crown-like force beneath the surface. This piece was created through a JD-led collaboration with Devin Sullivan. The finished painting holds a commanding abstract presence balancing volcanic heat forest depth and the feeling of something buried becoming visible.
