2021 Here and Now

Dunn Healing Arts Gallery

Here and Now, this year’s celebration of photography at Houston Methodist, asks participants to focus on the present. The creative process of capturing an image—from choosing the subject matter to discovering new angles to manipulating light—requires absolute attention on the here and now. These moments of mindfulness allow us to be conscious of our surroundings and provide time to acknowledge and accept the moment. We encourage you to fully take in the experience you are capturing, allowing your mind to become quiet and peaceful. Photography gives you a chance to choose your perspective. As you consider participating in this next call for photographs, explore options as you find yourself in the quiet of your surroundings, your travels, your escapes to nature—any scene that captures your here and now.
