About the artist

Gilchrist Jackson MD, FACS

Taking photographs helps capture a pleasant memory or scene while traveling. It sometimes an attempt at artistic expression as I am not very good at other visual arts. I try to take my camera over my shoulder or in my IPhone wherever I go, especially during an early morning bike ride or evening stroll on the beach in Galveston. I enjoy photographing our growing family and these photos are collected by my wife, Katina, in books given to each of our grown children’s families every Christmas. Wildlife, especially birds, are frequently captured nonviolently while enjoying the wonderful habitat in Southeast Texas and worldwide.
