Arthur Rothstein (1915-1985) was born in New York and later studied at Columbia University. Between 1935-1943 Rothstein worked for the Farm Security Administration (FSA) to photograph and document the displacement and harsh conditions faced by American farm workers during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl. Over the course of his career, he worked for several photography magazines and earned over 35 photojournalism awards.
