Doug Amidon was a professional woodcarver with over 50 years of experience. A former school teacher, Amidon left the profession in 1967 to focus on woodcarving. In 2015, he bought a Gustav Stickley-designed house in Sandwich, MA with the idea of opening a gallery showcasing his and others artisans work. His works adorn boats, homes, and businesses in Cape Cod and beyond. Later in his career, he focused on wood carved signs.
