Cat Parsons Matsuda (aka Pansons, a nickname from her time at Rollins College) is a San Diego-based painter specializing in acrylics and mixed media. Through the interplay of shapes and hues, Matsuda seeks to create visual experiences that evoke the wonder and curiosity she felt discovering art as a child. Her work examines our relationship to memory, specifically the things we hold on to mentally or literally - the things that create the tapestry of our individual stories. Since moving to the West Coast in 2024, her work has also reflected awe at a natural world that is completely foreign and exciting to her.
