A blazing autumn hillside of burnt orange, gold, and rust rises above a still Algonquin lake, its colours doubled in near-perfect reflection across the glassy water. Dark stands of pine anchor the shoreline and a small tree-covered island, grounding the composition against the soft, overcast sky. Painted from Chris’s travels through Algonquin Park, this piece captures the region’s signature autumn light and the calm, mirror-like water he returned to again and again in this series.
