I grew up in the country, collecting moss, bugs, leaves and to my mother's chagrin, snakes and salamanders. Now I am a professional artist and amateur naturalist. My rural upbringing had a big influence on my aesthetic sensibility and artwork. As an art material junkie, I LIVE to find new materials and methods to interpret the natural forms I find and photograph during regular excursions into the forest preserves of Illinois with my brilliant rescue pup Max by my side.
About
My nature inspired mixed media artwork is a homage to natures strength, beauty, and diversity. I am currently obsessed with using nature’s laws of gravity to play with liquid and fluid forms of paints and inks, manipulating the patterns they leave behind. I then layer on photo imagery and assemble with rocks, tree slices, or other natural specimens into well-crafted wall sculptures or paintings.
My work has received national recognition and been shown in museums, galleries, corporations, hospitals and some really killer residences. My greatest reward by far, however, is loading my dog into the truck and heading to my studio!
