About the artist

Milton Miskel

Milton is a gentle man who often draws aggressive imagery: helicopters, sharks, and fierce women in fur coats. Milton draws with great care, patiently struggling against a slight tremor in his hands. This results in a vibrating, charged line that gives his work a sense of intensity and vulnerability. He sometimes uses difficult episodes from his personal history as subject matter, portraying them with an unsentimental frankness that invites a deep emotional response from the viewer.
