This was an exercise of building a piece to specifications written by another person. My professor drew up the sketch with measurements, and I executed it with my own choices for how it would be built and how I would treat the surface. I gave the piece a bruised silver finish so it would reflect the craters and textures of the moon's surface. I chose this as the aesthetic theme of the ring because of the crescent, domed form in the original design.
