Painted En Plein Air in Palm Springs, CA last spring. I found this spot slightly off the trail where I could stare upwards at the beautiful palm trees along a mountain stream. Aqua is water, Calient is hot, and indeed, this was. The sky was such a striking blue against the mountains and green fronds, while I was accompanied by the gentle sound of the stream flowing from the mountainside. I loved the idea that these two palms were battling it out.
