Carrie is a full-time artist who makes radiant paintings with oil and acrylic ink. She finds her inspiration in nature. Carrie paints outdoors and in her studio in Columbus, Ohio. A Pittsburgh native with a degree in communications from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Carrie transitioned to her art career after working at local and national nonprofits serving vulnerable children. Her art can be found in private and public collections across the United States and abroad. She is self-taught but has studied with professors from Columbus College of Art and Design, The Ohio State University and contemporary master painters.

"The best parts of my childhood were spent wandering my aunt and uncle’s wooded acres in Pennsylvania and working at their nursery and greenhouse. It was a place of natural beauty, calm and unconditional love. Those experiences inform my subject matter and infuse my work with optimism.
My painting process is a meditative one where I enjoy the luxury of taking my time. The more I look, the more I see. I am particularly obsessed with the clear, radiant color nature offers with flowers in bloom and fall color. It's like painting sunlight through stained glass. I enjoy exploring this in both the intense transparency of acrylic inks and the beautiful versatility of oils.
