My work begins with close observation. Animals have long drawn me in, not only for their beauty, but for what they seem to carry: watchfulness, vulnerability, strength, mystery, and a deep connection to the living systems that sustain us. Through clay, I try to honour that presence and invite a similar sense of reflection in others.

I still stop to poke under rocks. That instinct to look closely, to notice small living things, and to feel wonder in the natural world has shaped both my life and my practice. My path into ceramics deepened after a back injury reminded me that the work that matters should not be postponed. I built a studio and committed myself to the medium seriously. Since then, clay has become the place where my love of nature, form, colour, and meaning come together.

At the heart of my practice is a desire to create sculpture that encourages reverence for the living world. Biodiversity matters deeply to me, and that concern sits quietly underneath much of what I make, in the animals I choose, the surfaces I build, and the sense of presence I work toward in every piece.
