I create wearable art and sculptural works using bead embroidery, gemstones, fiber, and found materials. I love being outside, and so much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful landscapes, waterways, and wildlife that surround me here in the Pacific Northwest. I’ve always been drawn to objects that tell stories, especially driftwood shaped by tides, storms, and time. I rarely start with a fixed idea. Instead, I spend time with the materials, looking for the character that is already there and figuring out what they might become. I love combining the raw and the refined—the roughness of driftwood with intricate beadwork, stone with soft fiber—and I’m not afraid to have a little fun with it. There is often a touch of whimsy in my work, whether it becomes a curious creature, an unexpected character, or simply something that makes you smile. My intention is to transform ordinary or overlooked materials into something unexpected while capturing some of the beauty, personality, and magic I see in the natural world around me.
