Ji Daily is a painter whose lifelong connection to art is expressed through layered acrylic work. Born in Seoul, South Korea, she moved to the United States at age seven, an experience that continues to shape her sense of movement, adaptation, and layered identity. For the past sixteen years, she has called Lafayette, Louisiana home, drawing inspiration from its culture, community, and the natural beauty of the surrounding swamps.
Working in acrylics, Ji builds surfaces through a process of layering, revealing and concealing forms beneath subtle metallic sheens that shift with light and perspective. Her compositions often begin with fluid, abstract backgrounds of curves and swirls, over which she places a strong graphic foreground—creating a dynamic balance between structure and spontaneity.
