Barb enjoyed art classes throughout her primary & high school years. She was awarded in high school, a scholarship to the Summer Painting Program at the UWGB in 1974.
After graduation, Zipperer had been discouraged from pursuing art as a career by her parents. Art for the next 37 years was on hold. In 2018 Barb's mother was in need of full-time care. While providing care for her mother, mom encouraged her to start painting again. Together they worked on a piece based on a 2x2 black and white photo of her mother’s. Her mother died before the framing was completed but her memory is alive in “TWARDZIK”.
Barb enjoys painting landscapes containing water, and experimenting with different techniques and textures to make her paintings unique. If you live in Wisconsin, there is a good chance that you could stumble upon her painting at a peaceful location near you!
