David Baggarly is a multimedia artist working primarily in painting and collage. Born in 1963, Baggarly received a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in 1985. He currently lives and works in Massachusetts.
Baggarly's work is characterized by vibrant color and psychedelic pattern. He is inspired by religious iconography and paints a unique, personal image of faith. While not directly symbolic, shapes and colors within his paintings can be traced to a Christian spiritual meaning. He describes his work as “celebrating the divine.”
Baggarly has exhibited and received grants throughout New England. His work was featured in the Bannister Gallery Hall Space Gallery in March 2007. His 2004 painting Untitled, III currently hangs in the Rhode Island College President’s House.
