Still Work to Do portrays two cowboys riding out at the close of a long day after bringing cattle in for weaning. Though the major work is finished, the day’s responsibilities are not. Before morning comes, the horse herd must be found, gathered, and run into the corrals so fresh mounts are ready for the next day’s work.

The painting reflects the dedication and perseverance that often go unseen in ranching life. Long after the most visible tasks are complete, there remains a commitment to preparing for what comes next. Inspired by a scene at Douglas Lake Ranch in British Columbia, this piece celebrates the quiet determination that keeps both cattle and horse operations moving forward.
