Auguste Moreau (1834–1917), a French sculptor born in Dijon, was the youngest son of sculptor and painter Jean-Baptiste Moreau. He debuted at the Salon in 1861, exhibiting regularly until 1913. His bronze sculptures, often pastoral or allegorical, exhibit a naturalistic, elegant style. His work is highly prized worldwide
