Each work portrays figures who are unapologetically themselves: rooted, self-assured, weird and comfortable in their own skin. Through bold brushwork and layered composition, the series captures the energy and resilience of modern womanhood while inviting reflection on presence, confidence, and self-acceptance.

Wood’s work has been recognized on both national and international stages: her Dorothy Parker and Madam C.J. Walker art mannequins were featured in her 2020 solo exhibition Pardon Me While I Blaze Some Trails at The Mainstay Gallery, and her piece My New Pet Something or Other appeared in Women United Art Magazine in Summer 2025. This collection continues her exploration of women as vibrant, self-possessed, and indomitable.

Guided by Ghosts is a series where abstraction meets figures, faces, and energies that emerge through the layers of paint. Faces materialize within the movement, blending into the textures and colors, as if spirits or guides are revealing themselves in the act of creation. Each piece is an intuitive exploration—part apparition, part emotion—allowing the unseen to take form. The result is a dreamlike, otherworldly presence that feels both ethereal and deeply connected, inviting viewers to find their own meanings within the ghostly whispers of the canvas.

In this evocative series, the artist celebrates Los Angeles—her hometown and perpetual muse—with a collection that captures the city’s endless contrasts and vibrant energy. Drawing inspiration from the golden hues of sunset and the colorful chaos of its streets, she portrays L.A. as a living tapestry of resilience, dreams, and creativity. Each piece reflects the layered history, rich diversity, and untamed beauty of the city, inviting viewers to embrace its imperfections and the boundless stories woven into its fabric. This ongoing series stands as a heartfelt love letter to the city she calls home.

Fierce Little Things - small in size, but still hold the same energy and emotion you'll see in the larger works, just in a size that feels more personal and easy to live with. These pieces invite you in close — they may be compact, but they make themselves known.

Wild Thing, I Think I Love You is a collection that celebrates the animal spirit...fierce, free, and full of wonder. Each piece features an animal, nature, or humans that wild and free.  I love how animals, trees and flowers, carry their own mystery and wisdom, and painting them feels like channeling that wild energy. 

These works are about connection, instinct, and the untamed parts of ourselves that deserve to be loved too.

Wonderstruck is a series of artworks that revel in the awe, absurdity, and resilience of being human. Figures that are not idealized, they are radiant in their strangeness, sovereign in their presence, and alive with layers of story. 

I love incorporating symbols in my work: Hamsas, eyes, ladders, houses, and crowns appear again and again. For this series, I leaned into the crown as a symbol of strength, presence, self-love, and trusting your own power. And the idea of not waiting for someone else to crown you - you are the creator of your own self-authority.

This series will exhibit in the Startup Art Fair at the Kinney Hotel in Venice Beach - 2/27-3/1 in room 232. 

These original works on paper are where gesture, instinct and experimentation come through most directly. I love the immediacy of paper, the way it holds scratches, washes, loose marks and unexpected accidents without asking them to behave. Each piece is one of a kind.

Annie Wood’s Loolies are curious little beings made to live with you. Part sculpture, part companion, they hold thoughts, feelings, moods, memories, and all the strange little things that don’t always have words.

Some are Day Loolies, bright, warm, playful creatures with sunny energy. 

Some are Night Loolies, dreamier souls who belong to moonlight, secrets, shadows, and the quiet hours.

And then there are Pop Loolies, the bold ones. Loud, colorful, mischievous, and impossible to ignore.

Each Loolie has its own personality and its own name, often pulled from a feeling, a thought, or something half-remembered. Hang one on your wall, put one on a shelf, give it a name if you want. They’re here to keep you company.
